Ann is the owner and primary pet sitter of Pet Sitters LLC. Formerly in a healthcare profession, Ann has transferred her skills to working with pets. Mathew started pet sitting in December 2008 to help his mother Ann kickstart the business. He grew to love waking up at 5 AM just to let a puppy out into the yard. Currently a student at George Mason University, Mathew works as a pet-sitter during his breaks from school.
Jennifer joined the team in August 2011 as our office manager and occasional pet sitter. The mom-of-three has a background in business administration, public relations and journalism and was a Pet Sitters client before becoming an employee. Jennifer currently has a black miniature schnauzer named Mitzy, but has also owned a salt-and-pepper miniature schnauzer, poodle, cat, guinea pig and hamster in the past.
Vicky is a habitual animal lover. With her three children growing up and their pets, she has taken care of fishes, fowls, reptiles, and (of course) mammals. Born in Philadelphia - retired as a teacher - Vicky has become a recent resident of Smithfield and loves the area.
Vanessa started pet sitting in April 2010. As a military spouse, she has been a "jack of all trades" to include work in customer service, strategic planning, training and academic course planning. Vanessa was (and still is) a client of the company. She loved the idea of having her pets cared for at home in a professional manner. When her last job changed location she jumped at the opportunity to provide the same service for other pet owners and ensure their pets are given the kind of love and care they receive from their owners. A lifelong animal lover, Vanessa currently has three cats and is gently persuading her husband that it's time for a dog too!
Caitlin has lived in Smithfield her whole life. She has six "babies" of her own - two dogs (Rugby and Luther), two cats (Daphne and Popcorn), a rabbit (Fiona) and a guinea pig (Tootsie). She also works at Banfield Pet Hospital in Portsmouth.
Kristen is a recent graduate of Smithfield High school and now attends Tidewater Community College. She has worked with animals all her life because she has owned all kinds of animals. Kristen currently has three dogs, two cats and one bird and previously owned a lizard and chinchilla. She loves animals no matter what type they are, which is why she loves working as a pet sitter.
Nicole has been pet sitting since May 2011. She is also a registered nurse. Nicole has four dogs: Smokey the German Shepherd, Rex the Black Lab, Buckeye the Golden Retriever and Pronk. She also has three cats - Kate, Sprinkles and Frosty - as well as three guinea pigs whose names are Holly, Raleigh and a new baby (Molly if she's a girl or Wally if he's a boy). Nicole loves doing pet visits and would love to take all the animals home with her!
Ally is a senior at Isle of Wight Academy and plays three sports: volleyball, basketball (her favorite) and soccer. She owns two dogs, Molly and Kate, one cat named Tac, a bearded dragon called Lizzy, and two Beta fish. One day, Ally hopes to be a veterinarian and care for animals every day. She loves her job at Pet Sitters and thinks it is a great experience for her.
